Gill Horn
Gill Horn is an accomplished Costume Designer with an extensive body of work across film and television drama. Based in Scotland, she has worked throughout the UK and internationally, building a reputation for visually rich and character-driven design.
Her early feature film credits include “RATCATCHER”, directed by Lynne Ramsay, and Nicolas Winding Refn’s “VALHALLA RISING”. Further notable work includes Duane Hopkins’ feature “BYPASS” and the acclaimed true-crime drama “RILLINGTON PLACE, directed by Craig Viveiros.
In 2021, during the pandemic Gill designed “THE ROAD DANCE”, written and directed by Richie Adams and filmed on location in a small village in the Outer Hebrides.
She reunited with director Gillies Mackinnon on “THE LAST BUS” , starring Timothy Spall, following their earlier collaborations on “WHISKY GALORE” and “CASTLES IN THE SKY”, both starring Eddie Izzard.
Gill has also worked closely with director Aisling Walsh on “ELIZABETH IS MISSING”, the award-winning television film starring Glenda Jackson, and more recently on the Masterpiece miniseries “MISS AUSTEN”.
Gill's work spans both period and contemporary drama, with each project approached as cinematic storytelling. She is known for her rigorous research, attention to detail, and ability to create authentic, believable costumes that support character, status, and narrative. Highly collaborative, she works closely with directors and cast to ensure costumes authentically reflect each character and serve the story.
Her most recent project is “BORGES & ME”, a period road movie set in the Scottish Highlands, directed by Marc Turtletaub and due for release later this year.
